Frequently asked questions

Should I use a steroid cream for a fungal infection?

Not unless a doctor prescribes it. Creams that mix steroids with antifungals are widely sold without a prescription, but they can make fungal infections spread and harder to treat. A dermatologist can confirm the cause and choose the right treatment.

How long does acne treatment take to work?

Most acne treatments take several weeks before you see a difference, so give them time and go back for your follow-up. Your dermatologist will adjust the treatment if it isn’t working.

Is hair fall a reason to see a dermatologist?

Yes, especially if it is sudden, patchy, or comes with itching or scaling of the scalp. The doctor may suggest blood tests to look for causes such as thyroid problems or low iron.

Can a skin problem be checked online?

Some skin problems can be assessed from clear photos and a call, but many need an in-person examination. Each doctor’s profile shows whether they offer online consultations.

In an emergency, don’t wait for an appointment. Call 108 for an ambulance or 112 for any emergency.
