Also called: child specialist, paediatrician
Find a pediatrician (child specialist)
A pediatrician (paediatrician, or child specialist) looks after babies, children and teenagers: illnesses and infections, vaccinations, growth, nutrition and development. Pediatricians in India hold an MD or DNB in Paediatrics or a DCH, and some train further in newborn care.

Frequently asked questions
Which vaccination schedule will my child follow?
Vaccines start at birth and continue through childhood. Your pediatrician will follow India’s national schedule and may suggest additional vaccines from the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) schedule, recording each dose on the vaccination card.
Should I give my child medicine before the visit?
Only medicines a doctor has advised, at the dose for your child’s weight. Never give adult medicines to a child. Note the time and dose of anything you gave, so the pediatrician knows.
Up to what age does a child see a pediatrician?
Pediatricians care for children from birth through the teenage years, generally up to 18.
Can I book for my child from my own account?
Yes. Add your child as a family profile on Doctserve, then book visits and keep their prescriptions and reports in one place.
