Frequently asked questions
Should I clean ear wax with cotton buds?
No. Ear wax usually clears on its own, and buds can push it deeper or injure the ear. If your ear feels blocked, see an ENT specialist.
Is sudden hearing loss an emergency?
Sudden loss of hearing in one ear should be checked by an ENT specialist as soon as possible, ideally within a day or two, because early treatment may help.
When are tonsils removed?
Only in particular situations, such as frequent severe throat infections or breathing problems during sleep. Your ENT specialist will explain whether surgery would help you.
Can an ENT specialist help with dizziness?
Yes. Some dizziness comes from the inner ear. The doctor checks your ears and balance, and may suggest tests or specific exercises.
